We are starting a book reading club, and the first book is Inference Engineering by Philip Kiely (Baseten). It is a book for engineers who want to understand the technologies behind every AI product in production, covering the stack from model architecture and hardware to serving software, optimization techniques and running inference in production.
In this kickoff session we will cover:
Why this book is worth reading and what you get out of it if you build or serve AI systems A walkthrough of the table of contents and what each chapter covers How we will run the club: weekly sessions, reading cadence, how much we cover per session How the discussions will work, who leads them, and how to take part if you cannot join live Where to get the book (digital download or paper copy) and how to catch up if you join later
Come with questions and opinions on the format. The cadence is not fixed yet, and we will decide it together on the call.
